Now Offering Online & Teletherapy
As a couple’s counselor with a subspecialty in sex therapy, I work with clients who want to improve their intimacy by using a holistic approach. All aspects of their relationship are explored—health, family, work and stressors. Every couple defines and needs an intimate life that is unique and changes throughout their life cycle.
Together, we’ll work to understand your goals, take a history and communicate with any medical personnel if necessary. We may address topics such as: intimacy, desire, avoidance and infidelity. Treatment techniques involving cognitive behavioral and relational tools are incorporated in our work.
We’ll focus on helping you and your partner maintain a healthy sexual relationship and positive body image throughout your changing lives including pregnancy and aging. I also work with couples that have been impacted in their intimate lives due to illness.
It may be difficult to talk about sexual issues and the myths that surround expectations. The lack of communication often exacerbates the problem. For years, it was believed if a couple sought therapy and their communication and relationship improved, so would their intimacy. Research studies disproved that belief. A combination of Couple’s Therapy and Sexual Therapy is often the best choice.
To augment my Couple’s Counseling practice, I am a Certified Sex Therapist by the American Society of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists and also completed a postgraduate training program in Sex Therapy through the Sex Therapy Postgraduate Training Institute in Palm Beach, FL.
